Sparion builds wire and sinker EDM, and Tollaston is an authorized dealer across Canada and the US. The line is Japanese-engineered and suits mold, die and precision tooling departments cutting hardened material. We carry the SW-400 wire EDM and the SE-600 sinker EDM, all sharing the Sparion Nexis W control (Nexis S on the sinker). Every purchase includes a real test on your own material or parts at our Vaughan Tech Centre, applications engineering from your first quote through your first production run, Sparion parts stocked in our Vaughan warehouse, and factory-trained service technicians across Canada and the US.

sinker EDM
SE-600
The SE-600 is Sparion's sinker (die-sinking) EDM, purpose-built for burning deep cavities, sharp internal corners and fine surface detail that no cutting tool can reach mechanically. A 400 x 300 x 300 mm travel envelope, a 600 kg workpiece capacity and a 0.1 μm servo head resolution let it hold electrode positioning tight enough for mold cavity and core work at Ra 0.05 μm best finish. Tollaston sells the SE-600 into mold, die and precision tooling shops that need to complement their wire EDM capability with cavity-sinking for closed-end pockets a wire simply can't cut. The oil-based dielectric and automatic level control keep the process stable through long unattended finishing burns.

SW-400
The SW-400 is Sparion's wire EDM platform for die, mold and precision component shops that need to cut hardened tool steel, carbide and exotic alloys without the heat-affected distortion of conventional machining. Automatic wire threading, a 400 x 300 mm work envelope and ±30° taper cutting at 80 mm workpiece height cover everything from simple through-cuts to complex die details. Tollaston installs the SW-400 most often alongside a mold or die-machining department, where wire EDM handles the hardened details a mill can't reach. The deionized-water dielectric system and closed-loop filtration keep surface finish consistent down to Ra 0.1 μm on the best passes, which matters as much for mold polish work as it does for tolerance.
